The purpose of this detailed listing is to help you plan your scholarship search throughout the year. Please find information below about scholarships for Idaho students. Some of the deadlines may be from prior years. Scholarship deadlines are cyclical, so even if a deadline has passed, the website will likely be updated for the 2023-24 cycle. January

awards educational scholarships to LGBTQ and straight-ally students who are committed to making a difference in the world. Eligible applicants must reside in Washington state (those residing in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington are encouraged to apply). If you are applying for the undergraduate award you must be a high school senior, have a 3.0 GPA, and, either identify as LGBTQ, members of LGBTQ families, or straight allies who’ve been supportive of the LGBTQ community.   • awards female students pursuing a degree in STEM $3,000. Applicants must identify as female and pursue a degree in STEM. The deadline to apply is January 5th. More details here

 

offers scholarships to support LGBTQ+ and allied students living in the Northwest. Students must either be residents of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington (but may study anywhere) or be attending school in one of those five states. Applicants must also be pursuing a post-secondary education of any kind.   • awards $10,000 per year to disadvantaged African American/Black students that exemplify academic success and have an interest in global citizenship, public service, business entrepreneurship, or community engagement. Applicants must be graduating seniors, and identify as African American or Black. The deadline to apply is January 9th. More details here.

 

  • awards students $7,500 per year to those that show leadership, community service, and financial need. Applicants must be graduating high school, intend to enroll into a four year college/university, display the qualities above, and have a minimum SAT score of 1000 or ACT score of 22.   • is for $5,000. This has provided need-based college scholarships and educational experiences to cancer survivors from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana or Alaska. Applicants must have received a cancer diagnosis at any point in the past, plan to attend a U.S. college or graduate school, and have a family income of less than $150,000 per year.   •  awards undocumented students full tuition along with other mandatory fees. Applicants must reside in Idaho, have come to the U.S before the student was 16, be graduating seniors, display financial need, have obtained a minimum GPA of 2.8, enroll into a four year program full time at one of the affiliated colleges and relocate to the respective college.   • is for $500. This is awarded to an Idaho High School Senior who is planning to attend any college or university in Idaho. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA, and should plan on pursuing degrees in fish and aquatic studies. The deadline is January 31st. Website found here.

 

  • is for $1,500. This is awarded annually to an undergraduate student attending any school in Idaho. This is intended to continue the Idaho Chapter’s legacy of fostering the development of fish and aquatic professionals. The deadline to apply is January 31st. Apply here.

 

  • awards students $2,000. Applicants must be a graduating senior, have obtained a minimum GPA of 3.4, reside in Indiana, intend to enroll in a two/four year institution and submit a written essay. The deadline to apply is January 31st. More details here.

 

February

  • is for $5,000. Young theatre artists in their high school senior, college undergraduate, or graduate year could apply. To be eligible, you must major in the performing arts, such as theatre, drama, dance, playwriting, etc and have a cumulative GPA above 3.0. The deadline to apply is February 2nd. Learn more here.

 

  • is a $1,000 scholarship for new incoming first-time Idaho Resident students who graduated from an Idaho High School (or equivalent) and have taken college credits while in High School. The deadline is February 15th. Read more here.

 

  • is for high school seniors and college freshmen. To be eligible, you must reside in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Idaho. You must also study humanities and social sciences. The amount varies and the deadline to apply is February 15th. More details here.
  • is a merit-based scholarship offered to students attending Boise State University. It is worth $2,000 per year and can be renewed for all four years that a student attends Boise State. To be eligible, they must also have scored at 25 on the ACT or and 1130 on the SAT. A 3.3 GPA in high school is also necessary to receive this award. Students must also turn in FAFSA by February 15th to be eligible for this scholarship.  Learn more here
  • helps support undocumented medical and pre-medical students attending school in the LMSA West Region states (Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho). This organization awards two scholarship recipients with a one-time scholarship, in the amount of $1,800. To be eligible, you must be committed to pursuing a career in medicine and dedicated to serving the Latino and underserved communities. The deadline to apply is February 28th. More info. here

March

ranges from $1,000 to $5,000. This is for students of hispanic descent who live in Idaho and have a 2.5 GPA or higher. The deadline to apply is March 1st. Read more here.

 

 is for $2,500 per year and is renewable. This is given to outstanding students graduating from Emmett High School. Eligible applicants must: be a graduating Emmett High School senior or have graduated within the last seven years from Emmett High School; have a 2.6 GPA; demonstrate financial need; and, be enrolled as a full-time academic student at Boise State University, Idaho State University, Lewis-Clark State College, or the University of Idaho. provides a waiver of tuition and fees plus up to $500 per semester for books in addition to on-campus housing and subsistence to Idaho undergraduate students who are the children or spouses of military members or public safety officers. To be eligible, you must be an Idaho resident, a graduate from an Idaho high school or its equivalent (GED from Idaho), and enroll as a student in an academic or professional-technical program at North Idaho College, Lewis-Clark State College, College of Southern Idaho, College of Eastern Idaho, University of Idaho, Boise State University, Idaho State University or College of Western Idaho. provides approximately 25 awards to Idaho high school or home school seniors planning to attend an Idaho college or university. Funds are awarded to students pursuing academic or career technical education. This is a $3,000 award, renewable up to four years. To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.8, be a resident of Idaho, and enroll as a full-time student in an academic or technical program at an Idaho college or university. memorializes his maternal grandparents who were murdered during World War II at Auschwitz. This is open to graduating students statewide who are attending an Idaho college or university. The amount varies and the deadline is March 1st.  Apply here.

is for $2,500. This is open to graduating high school seniors, college freshman, sophomore, or junior. Students must major in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical technology, or another chemistry-related science and plan to pursue a career in a chemistry-related science as well.   • gives two $500 awards. This is for Idaho High School seniors enrolled in a college with a major in Fire Science, Fire Administration, an approved Paramedic Program or Paramedic Science Program. The deadline to apply is March 1st. Website found here.
  • awards students $1,000 to those having a passion for community service. Applicants must be graduating senior, enroll in to a two/four year institution/trade/vocational, business school, have obtained a minimum GPA of 2.2, and reside in Idaho. awards students up to $10,000. Applicants must be eligible for Pell Grant, be diverse, enroll in a two/four year institution, display qualities of leadership, and not reside in Utah. The deadline to apply is March 8th. More details here.

 

  • gives one $1500 and one $1000 scholarship awarded to Magic Valley seniors. Applicants must enroll in a college or technical college within 3 years of graduation from high school. The deadline to apply is March 10th. Read more here.

 

  • gives ten $1,000 awards. This is given to Idaho seniors with a 3.0 GPA that plans to attend any college or university in the fall. The deadline to apply is March 15th. Read more here.

 

grants African American/Black students passionate for technology various awards ranging from a one time award of 2,500 to a $5,000 renewable award. Applicants must identify as African American/Black, be a graduating senior within the U.S, intend to enroll in a college/university and study the majors listed, have obtained a minimum GPA of 3.3, and display qualities of leadership and financial need.   • for $500. This helps college-bound high school seniors afford tuition at Idaho institutions. To be eligible, you must be a  U.S. citizen who’s lived in Idaho for at least one year, have a verified medical diagnosis of epilepsy, enroll full-time with 12+ credits at accredited colleges, and show perseverance in overcoming seizure disorder challenges.   • for graduating seniors from Moscow High School who have a 3.0 GPA and have shown their creative writing ability. Students must have also shown volunteer involvement in at least one charitable activity benefiting the community. The deadline to apply is March 15th. Apply here.

 

 is for $1,000. To be eligible, students must enroll at an Idaho college/university full-time, have a 2.0 or higher GPA in the first two years of school and a 2.5 or higher GPA in the final two years, exhibit potential to study broadcasting. The deadline to apply is March 15th. Learn more here.

 

This is for graduating high school seniors or current undergraduate college students attending or planning to attend a public or private, two- or four-year college or university in the state of Idaho and majoring or planning to major in Fire Ecology or Auto Mechanics.  is for students graduating from any high school in southern Idaho (south of the Salmon River) with first preference given to any student who has resided in Gooding or Camas County for at least one year prior to application. There will be 5 awards at $10,000 each. To be eligible, you must be a current freshman who is entering their sophomore year at Boise State University. You must also be a resident of Idaho, have a minimum 2.0 GPA, and demonstrate need (family income below $55,000). The deadline is March 15th. Read more here.

 

 is for seniors in Ada, Adams, Boise, Canyon, Elmore, Gem, Payette, Valley or Washington counties, or seniors in Marsing, Homedale, Bruneau or Riggins, or first or second year students attending the University of Idaho or Boise State University. is for full-time students enrolled in a degree-seeking program related to the hospitality industry, including hotel/lodging, food service/restaurant, entertainment/golf club, resort, and the travel/tourism industries.   • is for part-time or full-time traditional or non-traditional students pursuing post high school vocational or academic training.  Preference is given to residents of Buhl, graduates of Buhl High School, or former residents of Buhl.   • is for Idaho high school graduates planning to enroll in either a professional-technical degree leading to something less than a Baccalaureate degree or a degree in secondary education in a professional technical area. Must be an Idaho resident and have a 2.5 GPA or better. The amount varies and the deadline to apply is March 15th. Apply here.

 

  • awards students $1,000 to those interested in studying technology or healthcare at the College of Western Idaho. Applicants must reside in Idaho, be a graduating senior, have obtained a minimum GPA of 2.5, display qualities of leadership, have a background in community service, and be of Latinx/Hispanic descent. is awarded to one undergraduate student from each of the four districts of the Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference, a total of four $800 scholarships, annually. Applicants are evaluated primarily on their leadership or potential leadership skills. Financial need is also considered. will give two awards in the amount of $1,000 each. Students must be an Idaho resident and graduating from an Idaho high school.   • gives fifteen $2000 scholarships. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and preference will be given to students majoring in finance, business or economics however, all other majors will be considered. The deadline to apply is March 30th. Learn more here.

 

  • helps academically promising students from the Inland Northwest maximize their potential at the world’s best colleges and universities. Up to two new Marsden Scholars are named each spring. To be considered, applicants must be high school seniors who have permanent legal residence within the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane (the state of Washington east of the Cascades and the state of Idaho north of the Salmon River). This is designed to include residents of Idaho, Montana or Wyoming who are either high school graduates or equivalent (G.E.D.), and enrolling in a trade school/ vocational educational training program, or four-year college or university.  is a prestigious scholarship award totaling $50,000 over a 4-year period. Students must be full-time and majoring in the College of Science and Engineering (COSE). Must be an Idaho Resident, female student. Financial need may be considered. The scholarship may be renewable as long as the student remains in good academic standing in a COSE major, and funds are available. The deadline to apply is April 14th . More details here.

 is for $2,000. This recognizes high school juniors and seniors who personify and communicate ethics in the real world, as demonstrated through community service, personal integrity, and academic accomplishments. A scholarship will be awarded to the winning application submitted by students residing in Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Washington, or Western Wyoming (Teton, Uinta and Lincoln County). Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and have applied to an institute of higher education, whether university, college, vocational school, etc. The deadline for submission is April 21st. This is a $500 scholarship designed for a Graduating high school Senior from Leadore or Salmon school districts pursuing a 4 year, 2 year, or technical degree. The deadline to apply is April 30th. More details here.

 

is in the amount of $5,000.00 per year for a maximum of four years.  This scholarship is open to students from Salmon High School, Salmon Alternative School, Leadore High School, or any other Lemhi County school including home schooled students. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.75 and be in the top 10% of competing applicants. ACT composite score must be 26 or above. The deadline to apply is April 30th. Read more here.

 is for hearing impaired students residing in Ada County, Idaho to further their education and support long term independence. The Hearing Scholarships support advanced education in a four year college program or a technical school. The amount varies and the deadline is April 30th. More info. here.

 

will award a $500.00 scholarship to at least one student graduating from Salmon High School, Salmon Alternative School or an accredited high school program. This scholarship is open to all graduating seniors with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher. The Scholarship will be awarded based on a combination of GPA, community service, extracurricular activities, and the quality of the written essay. The deadline for applications is April 30th. is for $1,000. This is given to Idaho seniors who have lost a parent due to cancer within the last 3 years or be a cancer survivor themselves.  Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 and can attend any 4 year College and University.  The deadline to apply is April 30th. Application here.

This is open to Idaho residents that have graduated from an accredited Idaho public or private high school, or equivalent. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher during the last two years of school and enroll as a full-time student. Applicants must be in any career technical program including at least nine months of consecutive attendance and leading to an initial degree or technical certificate.   •  is for $3,000. This is available for U.S. high school seniors and undergraduate students in the Pacific NorthWest (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming) who are planning to major in engineering and pursue a career in iron and steel technology. Applicants must be AIST members or dependents of AIST members. The deadline is April 30th. Read more here.

is for graduating high school seniors or currently matriculating sophomores or juniors in a post high school approved school or training program in the state of Idaho who also graduated from an Idaho Falls District 91 high school. There are two scholarships issued each year in the amount of $5,000 per scholarship. At least one scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior each year. is for $1,500. This is a regional art competition that challenges high school students to create works inspired by their state. To be considered, students must be in a school in Alaska, American Samoa, Arizona, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Northern Mariana Islands, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming. May

was set up to serve graduating students with a minimum 2.5 GPA from accredited Idaho high schools in the Magic Valley, including Blaine, Camas, Cassia, Gooding, Jerome, Lincoln, Minidoka and Twin Falls counties. In each annual cycle, they  typically award between $2000-4000 to two to three scholarship recipients. The deadline for submission of applications is May 1st. Read more here.

 

ranges from $1,000 to $5,000. This is for individuals residing in states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming) who are current MGMA members and enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program relevant to medical practice management. June

is up to $1,000. This is offered to students at the College of Western Idaho. To qualify, the student must demonstrate financial need. They also must have at least a GPA of 2.0 to be eligible. The deadline for application is June 11th. Read more here.

 

is a one time $1,000 award  that is given to nine deserving, low-income high school students or first time collegiate bound Idahoans. Applicants must be residents of Idaho, be of Hispanic origin, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, pursue an academic major and be enrolling as a college freshman in the fall of the year the award is offered. ranges from $500 to $5,000. This is given to students who are of Korean heritage studying in the United States, regardless of citizenship status (including Korean Nationals). They must be full-time students at a school in one of the designated Southwestern region states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington). awards students $1,500 to those that display academic success, qualities of leadership, have a background in community service, and are interested in the fields of health or fitness. September

is designed to assist students and educators majoring in welding or welding-related studies with the ever increasing challenge of paying for their college education. The deadline to apply is September 1st. Learn more here.

 

is only available to students in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, and Montana. The award is worth $1,000. The scholarship is geared towards high school students from these states that are looking to study in the tourism industry while having at least two years of experience in the travel industry. November

is for $300. This award is available for current high school seniors planning to major in agriculture or agribusiness. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and be residents of Idaho. The deadline to apply is November 1st. Website found here.

 

is for $1,000. This is given to applicants pursuing a four-year degree in general agriculture, agricultural business management, agricultural engineering, agriculture power and equipment or soil or water conservation with preference to those specializing in irrigation and soil technology.  Must be a resident of Arizona, California or Idaho. is only available to students in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, and Montana. The award is worth $1,000. The scholarship is geared towards high school students from these states that are looking to study in the tourism industry while having at least two years of experience in the travel industry. December

offers a full tuition award for two semesters of study. To qualify for this award, students must have a GPA of at least 2.6 and test scores of 33 on the ACT and 1460 on the SAT. The deadline to apply is December 1st. Website found here.

 

is offered to BYU-Idaho freshman students that are new to the school. The minimum test scores to qualify for this award are a 31 on the ACT and 1360 on the SAT. The student must also have a GPA of at least 3.4 to qualify this award. The application must be turned in by December 1st in order to be eligible. Read more here.

This scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors planning to enroll in an engineering program at an accredited Idaho college; or college students of any level enrolling in a natural resources program at an accredited Idaho college.
