I graduated in 2005 from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. After college, I worked as a New York City public high school history teacher. Also, I completed a Masters in Education at Pace University.
In 2012, I sought a new avenue to pursue my passion for college admissions further. So I founded Stand Out College Prep. I wanted to make sure that other students had the guidance for college admissions and the financial aid process that I did not have when I was in high school. As a first-generation college student, I was alone in writing my essay and resume and gathering other materials by deadlines. Luckily, I was a good writer (I won several essay contests throughout high school). Moreover, I spent many Saturdays at the library, reading every admissions guidebook that I could find to help me craft my best application and win $30,000 in scholarships.
I have been a featured expert in HuffPost, USA Today, Inside HigherEd, Discover, Staples, Care.com, Smithtown Chamber of Commerce, and Launch Grow Joy. Also, I am a Best of Long Island nominated college consultancy.
As an active member of NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling) and NYSACAC (New York State Association for College Admission Counseling), I maintain the highest principles of practice established by the professional organizations.
Don't put off enrolling. Enrollment pays for itself in college tuition savings. It comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
You should enroll in College Funded if you don't want to overpay for college....really. Think of all that you can do with the extra savings.
I want to put your mind at ease.
I want you to feel confident investing in the College Funded program. If you implement everything in my program and do not save money off college tuition costs, I will happily refund your money back to you. I am confident in my methods and that I will give you everything you need to secure up to 50% off tuition costs.
When you sign up, you will receive access to an online portal. You'll find an action timeline and resources, lessons, pdf worksheets, and more to help you leverage your student's desired candidacy and negotiate your way to more financial aid.
You will get access to a members-only portal, where I have uploaded lessons that cover the basics of the financial aid process, types of aid, scholarship strategy, and other information as it pertains to college funding. In addition, you'll get worksheets to hone and practice the concepts. The reason this is important because it checks your understanding of the materials and allows you to take action. I want you to feel empowered throughout this process. You should learn everything I know about how to get college funding. This keeps the process as transparent as possible.
Also, there's an area where I have uploaded key timelines and deadlines, negotiation/appeal templates, information about loans (if desired), and how to handle the income verification process.
In addition to portal access, if you signed up for Levels 2 or 3, I will schedule conference calls with you to review your financial information, college list, admissions offers, and financial aid letters. During the sessions, we'll strategize how to apply the concepts you learned from the lessons.
Yes! I feel so secure in my ability to help you get money for college that I do offer a refund policy. If you do not secure additional financial aid, then you can request your money back. To get your funds returned, you'll need to show that you applied all the concepts in the program to get a better financial aid offer
The majority of program members earn between $125,000 and $400,000 per year. The New York Times recently published an article explaining why people making $200,000 get financial aid over those making $20,000/year. College Funded will help you navigate the murky waters of college financial aid offices, cut through the red tape and uncover funding opportunities often extended to wealthy families.
Because everyone's financial aid timeline varies by school, as soon as the program starts, I'll reach out to you to schedule our first session to get to know each other. The second call will be scheduled as soon as you get a financial aid package so that we can analyze it and speak through opportunities for more funding. The final call will be scheduled to compare packages and make a final decision.
This program is designed for anyone who wants to save money on an expensive private college, believes they should be paying less for college (the money you've saved is for retirement, not money-hungry colleges), business owners, homeowners, 529-account holders, recruited DI-DIII athletes, or anyone else who wants insider information on how to save money on college costs.
100% of the families I have worked with, who have tried my methods, have received additional financial aid.
Enroll for as little as easy payments of $197/month for Level 1.
