The BIG ARTS Performing and Creative Arts Scholarship is open to high school seniors who are planning to study the arts or to students that are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program. The scholarship amount varies and students must reside in Captiva, Sanibel, or anywhere in Lee County, or are currently/previously employed in Captiva or Sanibel. The deadline is January 1st. AWS William B. Howell Memorial Scholarship gives $2500 to eligible Florida residents that are U.S citizens. CBC Spouses Essay Contest offers awards according to placement, 1st Place – $2,000; 2nd Place – $1,500; 3rd Place – $1,250 to African American high school juniors and seniors who are pursuing an undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degree in a variety of fields. A requirement of constituent of a Congressional Black Caucus Member is a must. Suncoast Music Scholarship offers awards up to $3000 in music education scholarship to 10th-12th grade music students who reside in Sarasota or Manatee County. G. Napier and Ellen T. Wilson Scholarship Fund gives an average of $4,200 to outstanding high school volunteers at both the Aspinwall and the Highland Park facilities of the Veterans Administration Hospital. Applicants must have a minimum of 100 volunteer hours at the Veterans Administration Hospital, proof of financial need, and a minimum 2.0 GPA. The deadline to apply is April 3rd. More details here.
The Pearl Mae Foundation Scholarship for Healthcare and First Responders is for students who want to pursue careers in health care or first responder fields to help support the increased demands of the growing senior population.
