January

Awards $1,000 to one 2L student of the University of Kansas School of Law, Washburn University School of Law, Creighton University Law School or Oklahoma City University School of Law. Applicants must exhibit professionalism and high character in their personal and professional lives, as demonstrated in application materials, and demonstrate a bona fide intention of practicing law in the state of Kansas. This gives twenty $1,000 awards to a student attending the University of Kansas School of Law or Washburn University School of Law Attending the University of Kansas Law School or Washburn Law School, who is committed to practicing law in Kansas. Awards $1,000. To be considered, applicants must originally be from Kansas and attending either the University of Kansas School of Law or Washburn University School of Law, completing not less than 60 hours of credit towards a law degree. The deadline to apply is January 15th. Learn more here.

Offer a $1,000. To be eligible, applicants must have FFA membership. Must be a high school senior or a collegiate student. Must attend a trade, two-year or four-year continuation of studies. Offers a $2,000 award to students pursuing four-year degrees in specified agricultural fields. Eligible applicants must reside in states such as Alabama, Arkansas, California, and others. Selection is based on the application’s overall merit. The application deadline is January 9th. Read more here.

Offers $1,000 awards to individuals from specific states pursuing a four-year degree in agricultural business, farm/livestock/ranch management, or agricultural sales/marketing. Residents of states including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and others are eligible. Applicants must live on a family farm, exhibit leadership skills, demonstrate financial need, and express interest in farm management. The application deadline is January 16th. Learn more here.

Awards ranges from $1,000 – $80,000. Applicants must reside and study in one of these regions: Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Carolina, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wisconsin. Applicants must have taken the SAT or ACT and intend to enroll in an Opportunity Partner College and have a minimum GPA of 2.8. The deadline to apply is January 31st. More info. Here. 

This is for African American  students who graduated from a Sedgwick County, Kansas high school, and are currently education majors attending Wichita State University. The deadline to apply is January 31st. Read more here.

This is for female sophomore or junior college students who are members in good standing of a sorority in good standing with TAPC. Applicants must be attending an accredited Kansas college or university, and have graduated from a Shawnee County, Kansas high school. The deadline to apply is January 31st. Read more here.

Awards $1,000 to high school students’ significant effort to advance racial equity and understanding in their schools or communities through volunteer activities. The deadline to apply is January 31st. Read more here.

Provides a scholarship to ultimately play a part in reducing and eliminating hatred, bullying, discrimination, bigotry and violence against gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender persons. This is up to $7,500 and is given to a resident of Kansas who has experienced some form of bullying because they identify as GLBT, and/or people who have experienced bullying because they support the GLBT community. The Kansas National Guard Educational Assistance offers a portion of tuition and fees, up to the rate charged by state educational institutions. The percentage varies based on eligible students and funding. Available to Kansas Air/Army National Guard enlisted members pursuing education (certificate, diploma, or degree), requiring a GED/high school diploma. Not limited to full-time enrollment. Bachelor’s degree holders ineligible. Applicable for fall and spring semesters. Deadlines: Fall 2023 semester: August 31st and Spring 2024 semester: January 31st. Read more here. 

Mahindra USA Women in Ag Scholarship is for $2,500. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in the field of agriculture and reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia or West Virginia. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is on a 4.0 scale required as well as participation in community service, financial need and leadership ability. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application. February

The James and Catherine Lardner Scholarship is available to college students and has alternating year requirements. To be eligible, applicants must have graduated from a Topeka area high school and/or currently be a Topeka resident. The deadline to apply is February 3rd. Read more here.

This will award 35 scholarships to Kansas High School and College students worth $20,700.00 to assist them with their education. The deadline for submission is February 1st. Learn more here.

This offering $20,000 annually. Eligibility spans states like Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, and more. The scholarship aids first-year students entering the College of Engineering, lasting four years or until graduation, with GPA 3.0 renewal requirements. Applications can be submitted prior to admission decision, but College of Engineering admission is necessary before late February review. The amount varies and the deadline to apply is February 9th. Awards range from $500 to $5,000. Open to high school seniors or college freshmen/sophomores from specific states and the District of Columbia. Minimum GPA of 3.0 for high school seniors or 2.75 for college students required. Selection criteria include academics, community engagement, leadership, honors, and financial need. This is for is for graduating seniors of custodial workers who wish to continue their education at the college level.  Eligible students must be Kansas residents, graduate from a Kansas High School, and have plans to attend a Kansas College or technical school.  The deadline to apply is February 16th. This assists dependent children of Simon Property Group employees through one-time scholarships. To be eligible, applicants must be the son or daughter of a Simon Property Group worker who has been employed for at least one year. Applicants must be under the age of 23 and be a high school senior or current college student planning to enroll in full-time. The deadline to apply is February 14th. Read more here.

This awards $500 to graduating high school seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA, applying to accredited four-year colleges or universities in the US. Past recipients can’t reapply. Applicants must be pursuing post-high school course study at either a college or university or other post-secondary educational institutions. The deadline to apply is February 28th. Learn more here.

Elizabeth Miller Watkins Memorial Scholarship supports women students with exceptional academics and financial need at the University of Kansas (KU). Awards of $4,000 or more per semester. Eligibility includes full-time enrollment at KU, a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and demonstrated financial need. Priority is given to first-generation college attendees and residents of Watkins and Miller Scholarship Halls. The application deadline is February 15th. Read more here.

 

Kansas Masonic General Scholarship awards $1,000 or $500 to Kansas students. To be eligible, applicants must be a Kansas resident and provide proof of attending one of the eligible four-year or two-year Kansas universities/ colleges. Applicants must be enrolled in 12 credit hours per semester and demonstrate financial needs. The deadline to apply is February 15th. Read more here.

 

Kansas Masonic Legacy Scholarship awards $1,000 or $500 to Kansas students. To be eligible, applicants must be a Kansas Mason and the son or daughter of a Kansas Mason. Applicants must also be a current member of (1) DeMolay International, (2) the International Order of Rainbow Girls, and (3) Job’s Daughter International for at least two years. In addition to these, applicants must provide proof of attending one of the eligible four-year or two-year Kansas universities/ colleges. The deadline to apply is February 15th. Read more here.

 

Kansas Masonic Cynthia Ruth Russell Scholarship awards up to $5,000. To be eligible, applicants must be a Kansas resident and provide proof of attending one of the eligible four-year or two-year Kansas universities/ colleges. Applicants must be enrolled in 12 credit hours per semester and demonstrate financial needs. The deadline to apply is February 15th. Read more here.

 

The BELL Scholarship awards students pursuing degrees in mental health related professions. To be eligible, students must have graduated from a Kansas high school and currently attend Washburn University or a Kansas Board of Regents university. The deadline to apply is February 3rd. March

​​The Hagan Scholarship Foundation offers up to $6,000 each semester. It is for students who have attended an eligible school as a Junior and Senior with a 3.5 GPA and 23 or higher ACT score, expecting to enroll in college next Fall 2024.  Finalists must provide a copy of the FAFSA SAR showing their EFC. This scholarship offers $1,000 to students interested in agricultural conservation. Eligibility requires residency in Sedgwick County, Kansas, or land ownership by parents/grandparents in the county, along with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants must plan to enroll full-time in agricultural or natural resource conservation-related fields like agronomy, forestry, wildlife management, etc. Home-schooled Sedgwick County students are also eligible. Offers up to $1,500 to graduating Kansas high school seniors with strong academics and community involvement. Intending to attend a Kansas four-year university, community college, or technical school. The deadline is March 14th. Learn more here.

Offer $2,000. Applicants must be a Kansas high school senior, or the graduate of a Kansas high school and enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university. To be considered, applicants must also have participated in an interscholastic high school golf program or a recognized junior golf program. The deadline to apply is March 10th. Read more here.

Available to full-time, traditional first-time or transfer students. The scholarship is renewable annually with a 3.5 cumulative GPA and by remaining in good standing with the college. The scholarship is for $2,500 annually and will be awarded based on a committee selection process. The deadline to apply is March 15th. Learn More here.

This awards for 1,000 to students graduating from North Kansas City High School who plan to pursue teacher education. The deadline to apply is March 15th. Read more here.

This oofer $5,000 for African American students from the Greater Kansas City area seeking educational advancement. To be eligible, applicants must be an African-American heritage. At the time of application, applicants must reside in the six county Kansas City metropolitan area. The deadline to apply is March 17th. Read more here. 

Scholarship amount is $2,500 per year, renewable for 4 years. To be eligible, you must be HS senior and have participated in junior golf activities including high school golf.  Must attend a Kansas college or university, including community colleges. The deadline is March 10th. Read more here.

This offers to school seniors within participating EWI Chapter areas or homeschooled students qualify. Criteria include accredited institution enrollment, financial need, 3.0 GPA, and community involvement. Residency within a participating Chapter’s boundaries is required. This awards $1,500 to graduating high school seniors who either reside in the City of Shawnee or attend a school in the City of Shawnee, who have demonstrated involvement in community leadership and received special honors. The deadline to apply is March 24th. Read more here.

Provides one-time educational assistance for currently enrolled high school or college-aged women throughout the United States. The deadline to apply is March 31st. Read more here.

April

This assists students attending Kansas community colleges, technical colleges, Washburn Institute of Technology and certain private postsecondary educational institutions, and enrolled in specified fields of study. The Deadline to apply is April 1st. Read more here.

Offer $1,000 to a senior of Chaparral High School who is interested to pursue a degree in the area of language arts (teaching, journalism, research or drama). The deadline to apply is April 1st. Read more here.

This is for $2,000 to Harper County seniors who have maintained at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA. The deadline to apply is April 1st. Read more here.

Awards $500 to a graduating high school senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0. To be eligible, applicants must be the children of Murphy-Hoffman Company employees who have been employed for at least 90 days prior to submission of application. The deadline to apply is April 4th. Read more here.

Awards $1,500 to a graduating female high school senior or returning female college student who plans to pursue a degree in a technology-related field and attend a two or four-year college/university, vocational, or technical school. The deadline to apply is April 15th. Read more here.

Offers $1,000 cash scholarship to students within the State of Kansas pursuing a professional career in the field of Geography attained through a geographic-focused education. Students must have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher.  The deadline to apply is April 15th. More info. Here.

This awards a minimum of $500 annually to graduating seniors from the Shawnee Mission School District, or graduates of the Shawnee Mission School District, who plan to attend or are attending Kansas State University to pursue a degree in Education. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5; and Have extracurricular or other community involvement experience.  The deadline to apply is April 15th. Read more here.

May

The Kansas Comprehensive Grant provides financial aid to Kansas residents at private and public universities in the state. Award amounts range from $200 to $10,000 at the private institutions and $100 – $4,000 at the public institutions based on financial need. The deadline to apply is May 1st. More details here.

This awards one $5,000 scholarship and two $2,500 scholarships annually. To be eligible, applicants must be a U.S. citizen and resident of the Central United States who has Cystic Fibrosis. Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited junior college, college, university, or trade school with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7. The deadline to apply is May 1st. This awards $1,000 to students attending a private high school in the Greater Kansas City area (Clay, Jackson and Platte Counties in Missouri and Johnson and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas). Students must continue to attend classes and keep a 2.0 grade point average (or equivalent). The deadline to apply is May 1st. Read more here.

This awards minimum $1,000 to graduating seniors from Shawnee Mission West High School. Applicants must plan to enroll in a two- or four-year college and/or technical school. The deadline to apply is May 1st. Read more here.

This is available to students enrolled in an eligible career technical education program operated by a designated Kansas educational institution that has been identified as offering a technical certificate or associate of applied science degree program in a high cost, high demand, or critical industry field. Preference in awarding goes to applicants with financial need. The deadline is May 1st. More info. here.  

The Kansas Military Service Scholarship offers tuition and fee coverage at public Kansas institutions. Eligible candidates must be Kansas residents who have served in military operations with at least 90 days of hostile fire pay since September 11, 2001, or less due to service-related injuries. Honorable or general discharge is required, and submission of military discharge papers (DD-214) showing deployment location and service post-September 11, 2001, is necessary for application. This is available for HS Seniors/post-secondary students. This award requires an obligation to practice as a LPN or RN in Kansas and work for a sponsor. The sponsor will provide partial scholarship funding and provide employment upon licensure of the recipient. Recipients must sign an agreement to practice nursing for a sponsor one year for each year of scholarship support. The deadline to apply is May 1st. Read more here.

Assists pay the difference between resident and non-resident tuition at eligible out-of-state institutions. Recipients owe one year of practice for each year of aid. The deadline to apply is May 1st.Learn more here.

This program encourages graduate nursing students to teach in Kansas after completing their degree. Participating institutions include Baker University, Fort Hays State University, Mid America Nazarene College, Pittsburg State University, Tabor College, St. Mary’s University, University of Kansas Medical Center, and Wichita State University. Scholarship amounts vary. Recipients commit to teaching one year for each year of aid received. The deadline to apply is May 1st. Read more here.

This awards $2,000 to students who are the children of a law enforcement officer, firefighter or clergy. Applicants must be enrolled or will enroll as a full-time student at a two-year or four-year college or university. The deadline to apply is May 1st. Read more here.

Offers a $8,000 scholarship to valedictorians and $7,000 to salutatorians annually, based on class rank and GPAs (3.7 for valedictorian, 3.5 for salutatorian). Admission criteria apply, and the scholarship is renewable with a 3.5 GPA. Available for incoming traditional freshmen directly from high school. Additional aid includes Church of God (Holiness) member and Church Matching funds. The deadline is May 1st. Website found here.

This initiative aims to incentivize rural Kansas practice for primary care physicians. Recipients can get $20,000 yearly for four years in accredited osteopathic schools, with priority for first-year students. They commit to one year of practice per assistance year. This awards students interested in studying Astronomy or a related field. Applicants must have been accepted into the Department of Physics at University of Missouri-Kansas City. To be considered, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be already engaged in the extensive study of Astronomy, Astrophysics or related fields. The deadline to apply is June 1st. This is a merit-based service obligation scholarship program that provides financial assistance to both students pursuing bachelor’s degree programs and currently licensed teachers pursuing an endorsement in hard-to-fill disciplines or master’s degrees in hard-to-fill disciplines or either group planning to teach in an underserved geographic area. Recipients sign agreements to teach one year for each year of scholarship support in Kansas. Recipients are eligible to receive this scholarship for up to ten semesters, which includes both undergraduate and graduate work. The deadline is June 1st. Learn more here.

October

This assists current residents or graduates of Hillcrest’s Youth Program who demonstrate a desire and an aptitude to pursue higher education. The deadline to apply is October 1st. Read more here.

This will provides financial support for (grades 10 through 12) high school students in the Kansas City, Missouri school district. Maintain a “C” average with no failing grade within the last grade period preceding the application. The deadline to apply is October 15th. Read more here.

This has award levels being 1st Place:  $4,000, 2nd Place:  $3,000, 3rd Place:  $2,000, 4th Place:  $1,000, and an Honorable Mention (Four Applicants Chosen):  $500 Each. This is available to any Junior or Senior attending a Kansas tax-supported public high school. The deadline for applications is November 1st. Apply here.

This is for $2,500. This is given to a college student currently enrolled in an aviation program. Applicants must be a high academic achiever with a “B” average or better. Residents of Kansas, Missouri or Illinois will be given preference. Applications should be submitted on the last Friday of November. Read more here.

This is for $1,000 each College students in their sophomore or junior year who are enrolled in a full-time aviation degree program at an accredited four-year college or university. A high academic achiever with a 3.0 GPA or better and can demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in general aviation is eligible to apply. This awards $1,000 to one 3L student of Washburn University and one 3L student of the University of Kansas. Applicants must exhibit exemplary leadership in promoting diversity and inclusion within their law school and/or broader legal community. The deadline to apply is December 31st. Learn more here.

Think is one-year scholarship for incoming engineering students who are members of underrepresented minorities. Read more here.

The $500 scholarship is awarded each year to eligible Kansas high school seniors, college freshmen, and sophomores. To qualify, students must plan to attend a Kansas college and study journalism, political science, communication, or business. Additionally, they must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. This offers six scholarships for students pursuing a major in music education, or who will be. Read more here.

This is is for students (of Kansas State University, Pittsburg State University, University of Kansas, Washburn University and some community colleges) who agree to accept a commission as a Second Lieutenant and serve for not less than four years as a commissioned officer in the Kansas Army National Guard. This encourages dentists to establish practices in the state by assisting with the cost difference between resident and nonresident tuition at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Application forms are also accessible from UM-KC, and the deadline is on a rolling basis. Read more here.
