University of Minnesota National Scholarship – is for residents of any state, excluding Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Incoming freshmen are considered for the $60,000 grant based on an overall assessment of the application for admission. Full consideration for academic scholarships is given to students who submit a complete application for freshman admission by either the Early Action (November 1) or Regular (January 1) application deadlines. MetLife Foundation FFA Scholarship is for $2,000. Applicants must be working toward four-year degrees in specific areas of agriculture. Applicants must also be residents of one of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin or Wyoming. Ford Built Tough: $1,000 Scholarship – Students who are pursuing a two-year or four-year degree in any major are eligible to apply for the Ford Built Tough – $1,000 Scholarship. Applicants must apply online and then visit their local participating Ford Truck dealer for signature and dealer code. The deadline to apply is January 9th. Nebraska Quarter Horse Youth Scholarship is for $8,000. This is for applicants who have been a member of AQHYA or AQHA for at least one year and are from Nebraska. Members must apply during their senior year of high school or while enrolled at an accredited college, university or vocational school. Recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.5 grade point average. The deadline is January 15th. Read more here.
Smith Diversity Scholarship – offers scholarships to support Nebraska’s graduating seniors from underrepresented backgrounds who face financial barriers. These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate academic aptitude, leadership, determination, and a commitment to making a positive impact. The deadline to apply is January 28th. Rowan University Brown and Gold Scholarship – provides merit-based financial aid to eligible full-time out-of-state students for the fall semester. Applicants can receive up to $8,000 per year. Rowan University’s Office of Admissions determines individual award amounts based on the student’s academic qualifications, the competitiveness of the applicant pool, and available funding. The Dream. US Opportunity Scholarship – is for undocumented students who live in states where they do not have access to college – either because they will have to pay out-of-state tuition or simply because the college won’t admit them. The award will cover tuition, fees, on-campus housing, and meals at one of the partner colleges out of state up to a maximum of $80,000 for a bachelor’s degree. The deadline to apply is January 31st. Acacia Fraternity Scholarship gives three awards that range from $500-$1,000. This is for incoming male freshmen at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln who display excellence in academics, motivation for personal success with an interest in developing and applying leadership skills. The Susan Thompson Buffett Scholarship is a competitive scholarship for first-time freshmen entering college. This is up to $5,500 per semester. Applicants must live in Nebraska and meet the in-state residency requirements for the Nebraska public college they plan to attend. Nebraska First Year Cottey Scholarship ranges from $1,000- $1,500. To be eligible, the applicants must be a Nebraska resident accepted at Cotter. They must also be sponsored by a local Nebraska P.E.O chapter. Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000. Applicants must be high school seniors or college freshmen or sophomores who are residents of Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. Students must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0 for high school seniors or 2.75 for college students. The Nebraska Academy of Sciences collegiate scholarship in memory of C. Bertrand and Marian Othmer Schultz will be offered to a Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited college or university in the state of Nebraska. The applicant must have a declared major in a natural science discipline (chemistry, physics, biology, geology) and be anticipating a career in a science related industry, science teaching or scientific research. Joyce Ivy Summer Scholars Scholarship ranges from $1,000 to $6,600 based on financial needs for High-achieving female 10th and 11th graders attending high school in Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, North Dakota and South Dakota. NWAGA will distribute $1,000 dollar scholarships to female Nebraska High School Seniors who have played high school golf and are furthering their education at a 2-year, 4-year, or a technical school in Nebraska. One scholarship will be awarded to an applicant in each NWAGA region (Eastern Nebraska, Central Nebraska and Western Nebraska) with the remaining scholarships awarded regardless of region. $500 High School Senior and College/Technical Student SkillsUSA Nebraska Leadership & Skills Conference Scholarships. Two scholarships will be given away; a $500 scholarship to a high school senior and a second $500 scholarship to a college/technical student. For the high school student, they are to enroll in and attend an associate degree post-secondary institution OR enroll and attend a four year college. For the College/Technical student, they are already in attendance at a College/Technical institution and upon submitting a grade transcript for the following semester. The deadline is March 8th. Horatio Alger National Scholarship and Aksarben Scholarship ranges from $10,000- $25,000. Applicants must currently be a resident of and attend high school in Nebraska. They must be enrolled full-time as a high school senior, exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree, demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required), be involved in co-curricular and community service activities, and display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity. Charles & Orene Hinds – Odell, Nebraska, High School Scholarships is for $1,000. This provides scholarships for young people in Nebraska. To apply, you must be a current graduating senior who resides in townships that were included in the former Odell High School district (Diller-Odell High School currently). Applicants must demonstrate scholastic application and achievement with the intention of pursuing postsecondary education. To apply, you must be a current graduating senior or former graduate of Wood River Rural High School in Wood River, Nebraska who is attending Central Community College (Columbus, Hastings, Grand Island) or Concordia University OR a student enrolled in nursing at Central Community College in Grand Island or Concordia University. Cecile Meyer Frampton/Cornhusker Bank Scholarship for LNE – offers an award to graduating seniors from Lincoln Northeast High School in Lincoln, Nebraska, planning to enroll full-time (12 credit hours) at a public or private four-year college or university in Nebraska. They should have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) or a “C+” average or higher in their high school class. Candidates should exhibit leadership, good character, and citizenship, and show an interest in business through their course selection, work experience, or extracurricular activities. Jones Scholarship – offers an award to graduating seniors from Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Nebraska, who have attended LHS for at least two years and participated in at least one extracurricular activity during both their junior and senior years are eligible. Dick and Chris Draper Scholarship is for $2,500. To apply, you must be a current graduating senior of Elgin Public High School or Elgin Pope John XXIII Central Catholic High School, having completed all four years of high school at one or both schools. Nebraska State College Tuition Guarantee covers undergraduate tuition for Pell-qualified Nebraska students at Chadron, Peru, and Wayne State Colleges. This is available to Nebraska residents that are first-time freshman or an incoming transfer student at Chadron State, Peru State, or Wayne State. Nebraska Promise covers undergraduate tuition at all University of Nebraska campuses for students who qualify. This is for Nebraska residents accepted to UNL, UNO, UNK, UNMC or NCTA. Ohio State University National Buckeye Scholarship – offers several merit scholarships to incoming Freshmen who are not residents of Ohio in recognition of their academic achievements. Award amount is up to $13,500. Applicants who apply to the University are automatically considered for this award. University of Florida Out-of-State Tuition Waiver – offers a limited amount of merit scholarships to help reduce out-of-state tuition. University of South Carolina Alumni Scholars Award (Nonresidents) – offers merit scholarships for non resident students. Only one merit scholarship per student is allowed. The award has an Annual value: $8,000 + tuition reduction to in-state rate – Four-year value: more than $120,000. The Hagan Scholarship – offers need-based merit scholarships. The reward amount varies but the scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters. Applicants must graduate from a high school located in the United States. Eligible high schools include public, private, charter, magnet, and STEM schools. The deadline to apply is December 1st. Huge-NWU Full-ride Scholarship covers full tuition, fees, room and board over four years (the full-ride recipient must live in NWU-sponsored housing all four years). ACE Scholarship Dual Enrollment is for Nebraska high school students enrolled in college coursework at a participating Nebraska college. Student or member of student’s immediate family receiving benefits in at least one of the following: Free/reduced price lunch program, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or Student’s family has experienced an extreme hardship are eligible. GAP Assistance Program is for financial aid for low-income students enrolled in community college programs that do not lead to a degree. To be eligible, applicants must have family income at or below 250% of federal poverty guidelines, and enrolled in an eligible program that: offers a state, national, or locally recognized certificate, offers preparation for a professional examination or licensure, provides endorsement for an existing credential or licensure, represents recognized skill standards defined by an industrial sector, and offers a similar credential or training.
