January

The Future Farmers of America (FFA) Scholarship is for students pursuing a trade school, vocational certificate or a two-year or four-year degree. Don’t miss your chance to apply for a National FFA Scholarship to help with your next steps in education. If you are a senior FFA member in high school or FFA alumni in college, just one application is required for multiple scholarship opportunities totaling nearly $2.5 million. The Equitable Excellence Scholarship Program offers awards up to $20,000 to a current high school senior who plans to enroll full-time in a 2- or 4-year college/university in the US. Applicants need to be U.S. citizens or legal residents. The deadline to apply is January 12th. Read more here.

 

The South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship is for current seniors enrolled in a South Carolina high school or undergraduates in a South Carolina college. Applicants must have a  cumulative GPA of 2.75, be a South Carolina resident, have a competitive or recreational interest in golf, and be planning on attending an accredited four-year college or university in South Carolina. The John F. Kennedy Library Presidential Library and Museum Essay Contest offers awards up to $1,000 to high school students in grades 9-12 who are under the age of 20. The deadline to apply is January 17th. Read more here.

 

The University of Minnesota National Scholarship distributes a total of $60,000 for out-of-state freshmen using a holistic review process considering academic excellence, talents, achievements, community service, leadership, military service, or evidence of overcoming hardships. The deadline is January 31st. Read more here.

 

Applicants must be DACA or TPS or have come to the country before November 1, 2016. Must have immigrated to the United States before the age of 16 and have significant unmet financial need. Natural-born citizens are ineligible. They must graduate high school with a minimum GPA of 2.8 and pursue a bachelor’s degree at an Opportunity Partner College. The deadline is January 31st. The Harry Hampton Fund Scholarship gives up to $5,000 to high school seniors that reside in South Carolina. Applicants must attend college/university in South Carolina and major in a natural resources field. Applicants must have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA. The deadline is January 31st. More info here.

 

The James O. Thomason Scholarship offers awards up to $2000 to  full-time residents of South Carolina and a high school senior in South Carolina. Applicants must major in electronic, print or photo journalism, advertising, public relations, or mass communications. Applicants must have a minimum requirement of a 2.5 GPA. The Cancer for College Carolinas Scholarship offers up to $5000 to cancer survivors who are enrolled in college/university in the US. Applicants must be residents of the United States and must either be from or attending school in the states of North or South Carolina. The deadline is January 31st. Read more here.

 

The David M. Cline Scholarship offers awards up to $2000 to full-time residents of South Carolina and a high school senior in South Carolina. Applicants must enroll in a major in law enforcement, criminal justice, forensics, or forensic science. The deadline is January 31st. Read more here.

 

The South Carolina Federal Credit Union Scholarship bestows a total of $10,000 among nine high school seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA planning on attending a college in South Carolina. The deadline is January 31st.  Read more here.

 

February

Watson-Brown Foundation Scholarships are up to $3000 for current high school seniors whose  permanent address must be within the designated county region at the time of high school graduation. Students must plan to attend a 4-year, regionally accredited, non-profit college. The deadline is February 8th. Learn more here.

 

The Simon Youth Greg Saunders Legacy Scholarship provides $3,000 to accepted applicants. This scholarship is not renewable; however, applicants can reapply for up to 4 years. In order to be eligible, you must be the dependent son or daughter of a full-time or part-time employee of Simon Property Group who has been employed for at least one year, be 23 years old or younger, and be a high school senior or current college student planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. The Ramia Boersma Scholarship awards scholarships to outstanding students who are planning on entering the teaching profession. Students must be the daughter/son or granddaughter/grandson of an active member or a South Dakota education association retired member. Students must also be residents of South Dakota and plan on enrolling in a South Dakota college or university. The deadline is February 15th. Read more here.

 

The Gordon Horgan Scholarship annually awards up to four $750 scholarships for each academic year.  The scholarships are open to Native American high school seniors or college sophomores who are planning on going into the teaching profession. The deadline is February 15th. Read more here.

 

The Educators Rising Scholarship annually awards up to two $500 scholarships for each academic year to high school students who are planning on entering the teaching profession. Students must be an active member in a South Dakota Educators Rising Chapter, be accepted and/or enrolled in a South Dakota college or university with a School of Education, and have a 2.5 GPA. The Silver Pen Writing Competition awards up to $2500 to all high school seniors who live or attend school within 25 miles of the Brightwater community. Community employees and children of employees can also apply. The deadline is February 16th. Learn more here.

 

Foundations for the Carolinas Scholarship caters to undergraduate students with prowess in the creative arts. Minimum GPA is 3.0. The deadline is February 28th. Read more here.

 

March

Horatio Alger Association Undergraduate Scholarships help students with financial aid of up to $10,000 from all 50 states who have shown courage and endurance in the face of hardship. Recommendations, an essay, and a GPA of 2.0 or better are required to apply. The deadline is March 1st. Learn more here.

 

Clemson University Resident Merit Scholarships are granted to incoming freshmen students on the basis of academic statistics. Applicants must be inhabitants of South Carolina. Applicants must submit the FAFSA application along with their ACT scores. The deadline is March 1st.  More info here.

 

ANSWER Scholarship is available to women who are 25 years old and older. Applicants must be nontraditional and raising school-age children (grades Pre-Kindergarten-12) and are seeking to earn a four-year undergraduate degree in the field of their choice (award of $4,000), a two-year nursing degree (award of $2,000), or a two-year degree in CPCC’s Health Careers Program (award of $2,000). The Edsel J. “Coupe” DeVille Memorial Scholarship offers a varied amount of awards to graduating seniors from St. James High School or Socastee High School. Horry County students whose families are also members of the Surfside Area Rotary Club are also eligible to apply. Students need to demonstrate financial need as well. The deadline is March 3rd. The John M. Draughn & Trena B. Draughn Scholarship awards up to $2000  to students who accepted and attended either Coastal Carolina University or Horry Georgetown Technical College. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0, major in business, and demonstrate financial need. The deadline is March 3rd. Read more here.

 

Sue’s Hope Scholarship is for $1,000.00. This is given to students who submit an essay, “Vision For My Future Education,” of no more than 500 words. Applicants must also have a minimum GPA of 2.5. The deadline is March 3rd. Learn more here.

 

The Tall Club Foundation (TCF) Scholarship awards multiple scholarships of up to $1000 each. Students 21 and under about to enter their 1st year of college are eligible to apply. Furthermore, in order to apply, the applicant must meet the height requirements of the Tall Club Foundation, which are 5′ 10″ (178 cm) for women and 6′ 2″ (188 cm) for men. The deadline is March 7th. Charlotte Pride Scholarships offers awards up to $2,500 to A high school senior or college student from the Charlotte metro area who enrolls at a 2- or 4-year college/university. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants must also be LGBTQ students who have service to the LGBTQ community. The deadline is March 9th. Read more here.

 

The Blumenthal Arts Gordon Hay Scholarship Fund awards up to $10,000 to high school seniors who plan to pursue a non-performing career in theater. Students should demonstrate artistic or technical accomplishment and have a record of scholarly achievement. The deadline to apply is March 10th. Learn more here.

 

The Charleston Women In International Trade (CWIT) Scholarship is a $1,500 award granted to students pursuing a degree in international trade. Applicants must hail from South Carolina and be U.S. citizens. Everyone is welcome to apply regardless of gender identification. Students may be full-time or part-time students. The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBC) Spouses Performing Arts Scholarship offers African-American/Black students financial assistance awards for financial assistance (varies). Applicants must be seeking a performing arts degree, have at least a 2.5 GPA and full-time to be eligible for the scholarship. The deadline is March 15th. Learn more here.

 

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBC) Spouses Visual Arts Scholarship awards full-time African-American/Black students up to $3,000 for degrees related to visual arts such as photography, graphic design, architecture and more. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA to be eligible. The  deadline is March 15th. Learn more here.

 

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund and the Sallie Mae Fund come together to provide financial aid to exceptional students attending authorized post-secondary schools. Twenty-five students who have completed a two-year, four-year, or trade/vocational certificate/certification program will be chosen to earn a scholarship worth up to $10,000.00. Applicants must be high school seniors planning to enroll as  full-time students at an accredited post-secondary institution or continuous education program, be a US citizen or permanent resident, be Pell Grant-eligible, and be a diverse candidate or from an underserved community. The National Independent Automobile Dealers Association (NIADA) Foundation Scholarships offer awards up to $3500 to high school seniors who have shown good academics, leadership and service in the community. To be eligible, applicants must legally reside in the required regions, have outstanding academic achievement records, and have a positive attitude in college work. The deadline is March 21st. The Southern Automotive Women’s Forum (SAWF) Scholarship Program awards $5,000 to female high school seniors pursuing a STEM degree who are particularly interested in the automotive industry. The minimum GPA required is 2.5. The deadline is March 23rd. Read more here.

 

 The awarded amount varies. This competition allows academically gifted and highly driven high school juniors and seniors a chance to address a topic that reflects some of our communities most important challenges through an essay. A special committee of CBC Spouses judges the submissions. The deadline is March 29th. Learn more here.

 

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBC) Spouses Education Scholarship awards African American/Black students seeking a full-time postsecondary education. Applicants must demonstrate leadership qualities and reside in a CBC member district. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA to be eligible. The deadline is March 29th.  Read more here

 

April

Southeast Desalting Association Scholarship confers $2,500 to a student completing a degree  relating to the drinking water and wastewater treatment industries. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Due April 4th Learn more here.

 

BECA, Inc.’s Edna R. Anthony Memorial Scholarship grants high school seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA $1,000 as long as they attend a Historically Black College or university and declare a major in criminal justice, Journalism or nursing or healthcare. The deadline is April 15th. Read more here.

 

 The VANROSS Foundation grants high school seniors $500 to help pay for school supplies and tuition. Proof of completed FAFSA and EFC is required. The deadline is April 30th. Learn more here.

 

South Carolina Farm Bureau (SCFB) Educational Foundation Scholarships offers awards up to $3000 to students from a South Carolina Farm Bureau member family. They must be rising undergraduate sophomores, juniors or seniors. They must also be majoring in agriculture or a related subject. The deadline to apply is April 30th. Learn more here.

 

May

The American Nuclear Society (ANS) Savannah River Section (SR) Benjamin Scholarship Award is a one-year scholarship bestowed to high school seniors or freshman technical school students in the Central Savannah River Area (Aiken, Allendale, Barnwell, Edgefield, and McCormick) who plan on pursuing studies in STEM fields with an emphasis on nuclear science, engineering, and technology.  S.C. International Trade Conference’s Harry Wamboldt Scholarship is a $2,000 award bestowed on high school seniors hailing from South Carolina and attending a college in South Carolina. They must express a desire to pursue International Trade, Supply Chain Management or Business and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. The deadline is May 31st. More details here.

 

June

The Berkley Electric Cooperative Jenny Ballard Scholarship awards up to $2500. This is open to members/customers of a South Carolina electric cooperative. To be considered, applicants must have graduated from high school or earned their GED at least 10 years ago. Applicants must also be accepted into an accredited South Carolina college or university and demonstrate financial need. The deadline is June 1st. Read more here.

 

This scholarship program gives financial help to NOSB students who wish to pursue a post-secondary degree in an ocean- or marine-related field. In order to apply, applicants must have participated in NOSB at least once, must have plans to pursue a career in the marine-related field, must demonstrate academic success, and must graduate high school. The Fourth Circuit Essay Contest awards up to $2000 to current students in grades 9-12 from Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. The deadline to apply is June 2nd. More information here.

 

The Stuck At Prom Scholarship Contest awards the winner of a prom attire competition $10,000 in prize money. Applicants must create and wear an outfit made entirely from duct tape. The eight runner-ups will also be awarded various amounts of prize money as well. The winner will be decided by community voting. The deadline is June 4th. Learn more here.

 

The U.S. Army Loan Repayment Program is a special bonus offered by the Army to highly qualified individuals who join the army. The Army will refund a portion of a soldier’s qualified student loans under the LRP. The deadline is June 28. Learn more here.

 

The Korean American Scholarship Foundation—Southern Regional Chapter awards $5000 to an applicant of Korean descent with financial need and a minimum 3.0 GPA. The deadline is June 30th. Read more here.

 

Warren Dunn Charities Hearts for Community Service is a $5,000 scholarship granted to a high school senior with a minimum 2.75 GPA and an extensive history of community service. Two letters of recommendation from supervisors who can attest to one’s commitment are required. Due June 30th.  More details here.

 

July

The Southeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (SEAFWA) Law Enforcement Chief’s College Scholarship awards $1,000 to students who are passionate about wildlife conservation. Applicants must have an interest in preserving wildlife and their resources or fisheries. This scholarship also awards students interested in law enforcement. The deadline is July 1st.

 

 The David F. Ludwig Memorial Student Travel Scholarship awards $1,000 to undergraduate students to help cover the travel cost for ecological research projects. The deadline is July 1st. Read more here.

 

The NATAS Southeast Foundation Scholarship awards up to $6,000 to students who will be enrolled in college during the fall. Applicants who also pursue a career in broadcast or digital media are encouraged to apply. The deadline to apply is July 31st. Learn more here.

September

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship offers awards up to $20,000 to current high school seniors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Applicants must plan to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution with a 3.0 GPA. The deadline to apply is September 30th. Read more here.

 

Cirkled In’s “No Sweat” Scholarship offers awards up to $2500 to students who are currently in grades 8-12 and over age 13. Applicants must be legal residents in the US. The deadline is September 30th. More details here. 

 

October

Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Youth Scholarships offers awards up to $30,000 to students in grades 9-12 who express themselves in regard to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. The deadline to apply is October 31st. Learn more here.

 

November

The University of South Carolina Trustees’ Endowment Scholarship Award bestows $20,000 to an incoming freshman who exhibits academic excellence or who demonstrates financial need. Applicants must hail from South Carolina. The deadline is November 15th. Learn more here.

 

 The University of South Carolina Alumni Scholars Award grants a total of $126,000 to USC applicants. A separate Honors College application must be completed by November 15 and applicants must reside in South Carolina. The deadline is November 15th.  Read more here.

 

December

The S.C. Press Association Foundation Mundy Scholarship offers awards up to $1000. This is open to student journalists who attend a four-year college in South Carolina or who reside in South Carolina and attend a four-year college elsewhere. The deadline is December 2nd. Learn more here

 

The SC Higher Education South Carolina Tuition Grants offers varied amounts of aid to students that are legal South Carolina residents. Applicants must enroll full-time and meet the Tuition Grants Program’s academic requirements. The deadline is December 15th. Read more here.

 

 The 5 Strong Scholarship caters towards applicants attending historically Black colleges and universities that are high school seniors with a minimum 2.8 GPA and a minimum ACT: 19/SAT: 980 (verbal and math only). The deadline is December 31st. More details here.

 

Deadlines Vary

The Indiana University Bloomington Dean’s Scholarship awards an out-of-state student up to $11,000 in financial support for classes, tuition, and other college expenses. Applicants must demonstrate high academic performance to be considered eligible. The deadline varies. The fall deadline is September 30. The spring deadline is January 30, and the summer deadline is April 30. Read more here.

 

The Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) Scholarships offer awards up to $2,000 to high school seniors planning to major in theater in the SETC region. Applications are open to SETC members only. The deadline to apply varies.  Learn more here.

 

Coastal Community Foundation’s Reverend Pinckney Scholarship offers awards up to $40,000 to students enrolled in a college/university who demonstrate financial need and academic excellence. Applications are accepted in the second semester of students’ senior year of high school. Read more here.

 

Duke University’s B.N. Duke Scholarship covers full tuition. This is for students enrolled in Duke University. Website found here.

 

Duke University’s Trinity Scholars Program covers the full tuition. This is available to students at Duke University. Learn more here

 

NCSA Athletic Scholarships allows for students to find schools that have athletic-related scholarships. All sports are split into different categories and the schools that offer these opportunities will be listed. For more information, click here.

 

The Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship Program offers varied awards to support the education of deserving female students with financial need in higher education. To be considered, you must be a Christian woman who lives in one of the specified states. Read more here.

 

Regions Riding Forward Scholarship offers $5000 awards to high school seniors who live in states with regional branches and will attend college in the US. Offers $3500 to college freshmen, sophomores or juniors who live and attend college in states with regional branches. The deadline varies. Read more here.

 

Palmetto Fellows Scholarships award up to $6,700 for freshmen and $7,500 for sophomore, junior and senior years.  Half of the Scholarship is awarded in the fall term and half in the spring term.  To be eligible, applicants need to be residents of South Carolina and be US citizens or permanent residents with a 3.0 GPA. The University of South Carolina LIFE Scholarship Program awards up to $5000 to high school seniors residing in South Carolina. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen under state residency statutes. Applicants must also be full-time undergraduates. Read more here.

 

The South Carolina State Need-Based Grant awards up to $1,500 to students residing in South Carolina who are pursuing a degree. Students must also be a US citizen or legal permanent resident. More info here.

 

The South Carolina Workforce Industry Needs Scholarship covers one program fee. This is available to current residents of South Carolina who meet specific program requirements. The scholarship can be used to pay for course registration fees and is available for designated workforce training programs only. Learn more here.

 

The Colonel Kathleen Swacina Scholarship grants a female college student enrolled in an ROTC Program or an honorably discharged Army veteran. Undergraduate applicants should currently be sophomores or juniors majoring in a STEM field with a minimum 2.8 GPA. The monetary value of the scholarship is $1,500. See here for more details.

 

University of South Carolina Departmental Scholarships are available for students from different departments from the University of South Carolina. More info here

 

MTC Scholarships are multiple different scholarships with different rewards depending on which scholarship a student signs up for. Each scholarship has different requirements and different applications, either through FAFSA or the school itself. Read more here. 

 

Future Technology Workforce Leaders & Visionaries (F12) Scholarship awards up to $1000 to current high school seniors in Berkeley County who are intending to major in information technology, business administration, or a related field. Students must have a computer with a webcam and internet access.  Learn more here.

 

The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing High School Award offers various awards to women, genderqueer, or non-binary students in grades 9-12. Applicants must be a minimum of 13 years of age, attend school in the U.S. and not be NCWIT employees. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. More information here.

 

 University of Florida Out-of-State Scholarships offer financial awards of varying amounts to non-Floridian applicants that renew annually for either $4,000, $8,000, or $16,000.  Read more here.

 

The Kittie Moss Fairey Educational Fund is for current seniors enrolled in a South Carolina high school. Students must be South Carolina residents, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, demonstrate financial need, and plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university in South Carolina. Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarship awards up to $5000 to students who are deserving in college and  pursuing regular faculty and curriculum. High school senior applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, college applicants must have at least a 2.75 GPA, and they must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  Read more here.

 

The Diamond Youth Baseball Dixie Youth Baseball Scholarship provides up to $2000 to  former players to obtain a college education. Applicants must have played in a Dixie Youth Baseball franchised league before age 13. Factors such as financial need, scholastic record and citizenship are also weighted. Learn more here.

 

The Blumenthal Arts Mary Doctor Performing Arts Scholarship Fund awards up to $40,000 to students who reside in qualifying Charlotte area counties and who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in performing arts. Applicants must demonstrate significant financial need. Read more here.

 

The Carolina’s Chinese Chamber of Commerce (CCC) Scholarship is a $2000 award to high school seniors of Chinese descent. The criteria include exceptional academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and a one-page essay. Read more here.

 

Francis Marion University’s Governor Robert E. McNair Scholarship Program will pay the full tuition/fees, room and board, and study abroad experience. To be eligible, applicants must be a full-time South Carolina resident, a high school senior, admitted to Francis Marion University, maintain a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, have a combined SAT score of 1160 or higher or an ACT score of 24 or higher, and have an interest in a career in public service.
